Thanks in large part to left fielder Stan Francis, the Houston Comets beat the Baltimore Clippers, 8-4. Francis went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 3 runs. The save went to Bob Young, number 8 for him. With the victory, the Comets upped their record to 19-17.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Ernie Carter? The Houston third baseman had a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Comets on top, 3-2. For the game, Carter had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Carter.
