Though he had a stellar game, George Fisher could not prevent his team, the Minneapolis Millers, from losing, 5-4, to the Houston Comets. Fisher went 3-3 with 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI. Houston has now won 5 games in a row.

Houston used a timely hit from Del Goodell to get the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Comets ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"It makes it a little nicer in the clubhouse when we win," said Goodell. "It eases the tension."
