| Saints Win Squeaker, 3-2, Over Wranglers | The Dallas Wranglers extended their losing streak with a defeat by the Montreal Saints.
The Saints grabbed a win, 3-2, at Stade Montreal, overcoming a fine effort from Dallas pitcher Pete Rosenbaum. Rosenbaum went 7.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Miguel Hernandez, who finished 4th in the CA in saves with 18 in 1973, was the winner in relief. His record is now 4-4. The losing pitcher was Asbury Ashmore.
Joe Robertson was the walk-off hero for Montreal. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Saints center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I know everybody in here is putting in the work," said Dallas manager Vic Kramer. "It's just not paying off."
The Montreal win streak is now 3 games.
