Getting a good performance from catcher Hank Wallace, the Baltimore Clippers defeated the New York Gothams, 7-6. Wallace was 4 for 6 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs for the Clippers. Reliever Sonny Stoyer picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Bobby Carr, who finished 5th in the FA in saves with 21 in 1967, took the loss. New York is now 4-4.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the 11th, an error by the Gothams allowed the Clippers to score the winning run.

"It's great when the crowd gets into it," Thompson said.
