Behind the bravura of center fielder Bob Starr, the Chicago Chiefs topped the Washington Eagles by the score of 8-4. Starr was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Chiefs. The 5th-place Eagles have lost 7 straight games.

With Chicago leading 3-0 in the bottom of the third, Starr hit a sinker from Jim Stewart for a 3-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Chiefs ahead, 6-0.
