Cannons Get Extra-Inning, 8-7 Win
Toronto got a terrific game from catcher Ty Rusconi. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Cincinnati, 8-7. Rusconi was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The winner was Paul Williams in relief. His record improves to 2-6. Sam Haygood took the loss. Moe Powell picked up the save for Cincinnati, his 1st of the year.

Ike Perry went 2-4 with 2 singles for Cincinnati. The 36-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the tenth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 7-7 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Sam Haygood. It was his 6th RBI of the season.

"The game of baseball will test you," said Hal Upton, the Cincinnati skipper. "This one tested us."

The victory puts Cincinnati at 15-23.
