| Left Fielder Howard has 3 hits in St. Louis Win | Milt Howard knocked in 5 runs to help St. Louis beat Detroit, 6-3. The Chattanooga, Tennessee native tallied 2 singles and 1 home run. St. Louis starter Charlie Walker was credited with the win after throwing 105 pitches over 6.2 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. The save went to Curly Anderson, number 3 for him.
The game turned with one out in the bottom of the fourth when Howard hit a 3-run home run. It thrust the Pioneers into the lead, 5-2.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said St. Louis manager Babe Johnson.
