| Cleveland Topples Chicago, 5-2 | Cleveland turned a good performance from starting pitcher Alex Rutherford into a 5-2 triumph over the Chicago Cougars at Forester Stadium. The winner was Rutherford. He threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Hal Adams. With the loss, Chicago falls to 18-17.
The Foresters got a big at-bat from first baseman Frank Chandler. For the game, Chandler was 1-3 with a double. He drove in 3 runs. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Cleveland a 4-2 lead.
