Suns Lose to Miners in Walk-Off
Pittsburgh left fielder Mike Whisman made his presence felt in the 9-8 Miners triumph over the Los Angeles Suns. Whisman was 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Pittsburgh reliever Roy Cole picked up the win to move to 2-3. Jerry Patton suffered the loss. Pittsburgh is now 40-34, while Los Angeles is 29-45.

The Miners got a clutch hit from third baseman Reid Barrell. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Miners.

"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Barrell.
