The Los Angeles Stars and San Francisco Sailors played an entertaining game for Golden Gate Stadium patrons.

The Los Angeles Stars defeated the San Francisco Sailors, 5-4, in 10 innings at Golden Gate Stadium. Irv Boggs produced 2 singles and 1 double, while scoring 1 run and driving in 1. The winner in relief was Jackie Thompson. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. He now owns a record of 4-0.

Boggs broke a deadlock in the top of the tenth inning, when he hit a sacrifice fly, putting Los Angeles up, 5-4.

"We battled our tails off to get this win," said Los Angeles manager Charley McCullough.

The win elevated the Stars to 19-14.
