| Montreal Beats Dallas, 1-0 | The Dallas Wranglers got a sterling performance from pitcher Ed Smith, but the Montreal Saints still prevailed, 1-0. Smith threw 7.2 innings of 4-hit ball. Hal Bennett, the winner, goes to 4-1. He allowed no runs on 4 hits, with 2 walks and 1 strikeout over 5.2 innings. Miguel Hernandez wrapped it up, recording his 3rd save.
The Saints got a big boost from right fielder Jim Hendricks who had a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first inning off Wranglers hurler Ed Smith. It was his 17th RBI of the season and put Montreal on top, 1-0.
"Come up with some new questions," snapped losing manager Vic Kramer to reporters, "and I'll come up with some new answers."
Montreal is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 12th win in 32 games.
