Toronto Beavers starter Amos Brantley pitched a strong game against the Chicago Blues at Maumee Park II, leading the Beavers to victory, 5-4. The win went to Jon Matthews in relief. His record improves to 5-2. Russ Hoover took the loss. The win for the Beavers lifted their record to 39-31.

Doc Coughlin was the walk-off hero for Toronto. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Beavers left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Winning is all that really matters and we got it done today," Coughlin told the Toronto Times.
