Imperials Fall Short, 2-1, at Dallas | Rex Conner never let the Imperials get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his curveball, to pitch the Wranglers to a win, 2-1. The Imperials, now 16-21, have lost 4 straight.
The Wranglers got a big at-bat from second baseman Harry Clay. For the game, Clay went 1-2 with a double and 2 walks. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 1st double of the season gave Dallas a 2-1 lead.
"We didn't string enough hits together to win the game," said tight-lipped New York manager Bud Jameson. "Obviously." | |
