The New York Gothams converted a terrific effort from starter Les Freedman into a win over the Boston Minutemen at Minuteman Stadium. The Gothams won the game by a final score of 3-1. The Gothams now own a record of 34-39.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Tom Brizzolara? The New York catcher had a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Gothams on top, 3-1. For the game, Brizzolara had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
