| Newman Excels in 7-6 Kansas City Win | Due in large part to third baseman Ken Newman, the Kansas City Kings sunk the Montreal Saints, 7-6. Newman went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Tony Britten was the winner. Over 5.2 innings, he yielded 6 runs on 9 hits, with 5 walks and 3 strikeouts. Del Lamb closed it out for Kansas City, earning his 7th save.
Early in the game, Newman had a grand slam home run for Kansas City. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Kings on top, 5-2.
