Edwards Shuts Out Chicago, 2-0
The Chicago Blues were almost helpless in their 2-0 loss to the Pittsburgh Mechanics and hurler Casey Edwards. Edwards kept the Blues confused all game, spinning a 6-hit shutout.

"Tip your hat to Edwards," Chicago manager Mike Dermer said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."

The 26-year-old left-hander had 1 walk and 6 strikeouts in a strong performance.

"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Edwards said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."

In 18 starts this season, Edwards has registered a 9-6 record and a 3.10 ERA.
