| Suns Deny Comets, 3-2 | The Los Angeles Suns got a stellar effort from pitcher Jim Place, helping Los Angeles score a win over the visiting Houston Comets, 3-2. Houston drops to 3-3.
Adolph Young aided the Los Angeles cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the second baseman drove in one run.
"Jim is tough to beat when he's hitting his spots," said Los Angeles manager Jim Coulter.
