Stars Come Up Short at New York, 8-7
The New York Imperials beat the Los Angeles Stars, 8-7, at Dyckman Stadium. New York catcher Jack Peeples banged out 1 single and 1 double, while driving in 3 runs. Ed Cooper sewed up the save, his 6th. The Stars fall to 13-17 and continue their sputtering start to the 1975 season.

With New York trailing 5-3 in the bottom of the third, Peeples hit a changeup from Vean Conrad for a bases-clearing double. It was his 3rd double of the season and put the Imperials ahead, 6-5.

"If we keep winning the close games," Peeples said, "we'll be in good shape at the end."
