| Beavers Win Thriller, 5-4 | The Toronto Beavers beat the Cleveland Grays, 5-4, in 10 innings. Toronto pitcher and Nashville, Tennessee, native Dale Hovis led the way. With the win, Toronto upped its record to 36-29.
The Beavers got a clutch hit from third baseman Lee Parker. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Beavers.
"I'm not out there for personal accomplishments," Hovis told a Toronto Times reporter after the game. "I'm out there to help the team win, and that's what we did today."
