| Imperials Edge Wolves, 2-1 | Frank Williams pitched a gem to lead New York to victory over the Toronto Wolves, 2-1. Williams, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Glenn Webb picked up his 2nd save of the season.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the seventh, with the game tied, Vern Reynolds was at the plate when New York scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Imperials to go in front, 2-1.
"Frank just settled in and did what he does," said New York manager Bud Jameson.
The loss has the Wolves at 3-4.
