| Copperheads Get One-Run Win at Philadelphia | Broad Street Park II was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Atlanta Copperheads and Philadelphia Keystones.
Atlanta parlayed a decent outing from starter Marco Middleton into a solid win over the Philadelphia Keystones. The final score was 5-4. The winner was Middleton. He threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Buzz Lucas.
One of the clutch hits for Atlanta came from one of their biggest talents. In the top of the seventh with one out, Earl Skains, who led the FA in slugging percentage with .617 in 1972, hit a 2-run single to put the Copperheads up, 5-3.
