| Toronto Beats New York, 5-3 | The Toronto Wolves satisfied the home crowd at Dominion Stadium, treating them to a season-opening win, 5-3, over the New York Imperials. Starting Pitcher Stan Terry was the standout performer for Toronto. Ken Jeffrie earned the save for Toronto, his 1st.
Had Clyde Bradshaw not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Bradshaw hit a 2-run single. That made the score 5-3, in favor of the Wolves.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Bradshaw told the Toronto Daily.
