Pittsburgh Nets 7-6 Win Versus Minutemen
Chick Dickey was a major factor in the 7-6 Pittsburgh win over Boston. The Miners center fielder was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Pittsburgh reliever Frank Maxwell snagged the win, upping his record to 1-1. Don Griffin shouldered the loss. The Minutemen drop to 8-8 and continue their mediocre start to the 1962 season.

The most significant at-bat for Pittsburgh came with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the ninth. Miners shortstop John Moreland hit a run-scoring double to win the game.

"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Dickey.
