| Kings Suffer 3-2 Home Defeat | Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Chicago Cougars got the win.
The Chicago Cougars picked up a win at Seattle Municipal Stadium, defeating the Seattle Kings, 3-2. Starting pitcher Jim Norris was an essential part of his team's success. Charlie Lawson closed the game out for Chicago, earning his 1st save.
Fuzzy Cronin, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 1969 draft, had a direct impact on the outcome. Cronin contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning to put Chicago up, 3-1.
"When Jim is on, he can really move the ball around," said Chicago manager Pug Bryan.
