Boston Gets 9-1 Win
Boston Minutemen starter Dick Wilson turned in a top-notch performance against the Pittsburgh Miners at Fitzpatrick Park. The result was a win for the Minutemen, 9-1. In 5 innings, Wilson surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. The loss makes Pittsburgh 3-11.

Frank Kirouac had a big 2-run home run for the Minutemen in the top of the third inning. With Boston leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a sinker from 22-year old left-handed pitcher Clay Buddemeyer and punished it. The result was his 6th home run of the season, which put the Minutemen on top, 3-0.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Kirouac. "You've got to get results."
