Wolves Come Up Short at Milwaukee, 5-4
The Milwaukee Arrows did just enough to sneak past the Toronto Wolves, 5-4, at Lakefront Park. Milwaukee pitcher Red Burtch, in particular, had a standout performance. Johnny Britton earned the save for Milwaukee, his 1st. Toronto falls to 3-3.

Had Jim Stogner not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Stogner hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Arrows.

"This game will punch you right in the mouth," said Burtch. "My job is to show up and give my team a chance."
