| 2-1 Win Takes Blues to 33-30 | The Chicago Blues earned a close win over the Baltimore Cannons, thanks in part to Butts Parker. The Chicago left-hander, who led the UL in saves with 9 in 1909, played a key role in the 2-1 victory. The winning pitcher was Parker, now 6-8. He tossed 9 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 3. The current losing streak for Baltimore has reached 4 games.
Bob Wojtkiewicz, who is tied for 4th in the UL in extra base hits with 18, helped out the Chicago cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the left fielder went 1-3 with a walk.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Wojtkiewicz.
