Austin Mayer, who is tied for 2nd in the UL in wins with 10, was locked in. The right-hander led the Boston Beacons to a 5-0 win against the Toronto Beavers at Maumee Park II. With the victory, the Beacons upped their record to 34-24.

Boston used the timely hitting of Owen Gill to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Beacons on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I felt great. Had good rhythm with my mechanics," said Mayer.
