| Reliables Get Thrilling 4-3 Win | The Hosho Reliables took Yoshimatsu Shiina's best shot and still were able to collect a win at Nagoya Minami Stadium. The final score had Hosho getting past the Rams, 4-3, in 10 innings. Shiina over 7 innings allowed 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 2. Hosho occupies first place in the Eastern League at 24-12.
The Reliables got a clutch hit from pinch hitter Tomeo Okinaka. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Reliables.
"We just never give in," said Okinaka. "We think we've got an opportunity as long as we have an at-bat and some outs left."
