Rakisuta Loss Tarnishes Fine Game by Nomura
The Hosho Reliables withstood a fine game by Rakisuta shortstop Hideharu Nomura at Nagoya Minami Stadium, to upend the Rams, 8-7. Nomura was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Hosho reliever Junya Yamagata picked up the win, raising his record to 5-1. Gunji Matsuda was tagged with the loss. Motomu Taira, who finished 3rd in the EL in saves with 21 in 1966, earned the save for Hosho.

Tenmu Kurosawa helped out the Hosho cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the pinch hitter was 1-1.

"Nothing is scripted in this game," said Kurosawa.

The victory gives the Reliables a record of 25-11.
