| Reliables Fall to Rams Late | The Rakisuta Rams topped the Hosho Reliables, 4-0, with catcher Teiljo Otani playing a big role. Otani went 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 for the Rams in the win. The winning pitcher was Sadato Hayakawa. His record now stands at 3-2. The left-hander went 8 innings, allowing no runs on 7 hits for the Rams. The third-place Rams improved to 13-12.
Otani had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 2-2 fastball from Niou Nagao, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Rams a 1-0 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Otani.
"It was a solid team effort," said Otani after the game.
