| Dynamics Squeeze By Hosho, 5-4 | Both teams had their chances, but the Denki Dynamics eventually prevailed.
Hosho right fielder Samba Nitta had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Nitta was 2-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2, even as Denki beat the Reliables, 5-4. Picking up the win was Tsuneari Nakai. He went 7 innings, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits. The right--hander struck out 6 and walked 3. Tatsunori Tanoue, who finished 2nd in the EL in saves with 23 in 1972, earned the save for Denki.
Denki won the game in part because of Kinnojo Hirao. The first baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Dynamics ahead, 5-4. For the game, Hirao had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"This team's hitting on all cylinders," said Dynamics manager Carl Johnson.
The Denki winning streak has reached 7 games.
