| 3-1 Win by Reliables Continues Hot Start | The Hosho Reliables picked up a win at Owls Park, courtesy of Eichiro Ueno. The right-hander helped his team stop the Kyoto Owls, 3-1. Ueno, now 1-2, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 1, walking 3, and allowing no runs. Shirai Takahashi nailed down his 3rd save.
Tomohiko Hamano, who is tied for 7th in the EL in doubles with 7, had a direct impact on the outcome. Hamano contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put Hosho up, 1-0.
"This was a tough loss," said Kyoto manager Takejiro Yonemura. "It'll stick in my craw for a while."
The Reliables improved to a lofty 21-8.
