| Kingfishers Deal Bears 7-2 Defeat | Yokohama Kingfishers starter Kinzo Yoshimura hurled his team past the Sapporo Bears, 7-2. Yoshimura, the winner, moves to 3-0. He threw 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 2 walks. Yokohama is now 15-8.
In the top of the eighth, Yokohama third baseman Fujimaro Sonoda had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and one out, Sonoda stroked a run-scoring single to right. It made the score 4-2, Yokohama. For the game, he was 3 for 5 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs.
