Kyoto played host to Hosho at Owls Park.

The Kyoto Owls topped the Hosho Reliables, 10-5, with third baseman Tensui Kato playing a big role. Kato went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Owls in the win. Kyoto goes to 21-10, Hosho to 20-10.

Kato contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Kyoto in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 5-3, Kato took a cutter from Fumimaro Yamauchi and stroked the home run to left. His 9th home run of the season allowed the Owls to leap in front, 7-5.

"That's a solid team effort right there," said Kato. "Everyone's feeling positive after that win."
