| Reliables Improve to 20-7 with 3-2 Win | Though the conditions were not ideal, the Hosho Reliables and Kyoto Owls came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
The Hosho Reliables got a strong performance from pitcher Takamichi Smith, who stymied the Kyoto offense en route to a win, 3-2, at Owls Park. Hosho has now reeled off 7 straight wins.
Hosho used the timely hitting of Magohachi Tanoue to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Reliables on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"The vibe's good," said Hosho manager Shun Kawamura. "We've got to keep it going."
