| Takai Hurls Complete Game, Owls Win, 4-1 | Kyoto Owls starter Norikazu Takai hurled his team past the Yokohama Kingfishers, 4-1. The Kingfishers fall to 11-16 and continue their uneven start to the 1974 season.
Takai ran roughshod over the Yokohama lineup. The right-hander allowed just 4 hits over 9 innings, while striking out 6. With the victory, he goes to 5-1 on the season.
"I always intend to finish what I've started," said Takai.
