Dunham, Reliables Too Much for Kingfishers
The Hosho Reliables trumped the Yokohama Kingfishers, 11-7, at Kanagawa Stadium. Hosho left fielder Hank Dunham was terrific. He was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 4 times and drove in 3. Shihei Saito, the winner, goes to 4-2. He allowed 5 runs on 8 hits, with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts over 7 innings. Hosho is now 20-9, 2½ games up in the Eastern League.

Hosho used the hitting of Yukio Watanabe to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Reliables on top, 11-5. For the game, Watanabe had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
