| Kingfishers Win at Home, 4-1 | The game between Yokohama and Hosho is in the books, despite a little rain.
The Yokohama Kingfishers got a stellar effort from pitcher Fumimaro Yamauchi, helping Yokohama score a win over the visiting Hosho Reliables, 4-1. The winner was Yamauchi. He threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Iwao Yamamoto. Earning his 3rd save for Yokohama was Toshinori Osada.
Yokohama first baseman Yonekichi Okazaki contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a sinker to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 12th hit of the season and put the Kingfishers ahead, 1-0.
Okazaki called the win a testament to his team's "tenacity."
The loss makes Hosho 16-11.
