In a low-scoring contest between the Sapporo Bears and the Rakisuta Rams, Tatsuki Nakagawa, who is tied for 7th in the EL in innings pitched with 43.0, proved to be the difference. The Sapporo right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Bears win. The Rams, now 10-17, continue their sluggish start.
Nobuyori Toyama was the walk-off hero for Sapporo. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Bears center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
Toyama told reporters after the game: "Took some doing, but we got it done."
