| Clippers Deal Millers 7-3 Defeat | Thanks in large part to second baseman Clay Roberts, the Baltimore Clippers beat the Minneapolis Millers, 7-3. Roberts went 3 for 5 with 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Dick Butler got the win, improving to 11-6. He held the Millers to 1 run on 6 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 2. Charlie Platt locked down his 4th save.
Roberts had a consequential at-bat in the bottom of the third for the Clippers. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Baltimore trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run single.
"Nice to keep stacking the wins," said Roberts.
The Clippers move to 68-59 with the win, while the Millers drop to 58-69.
