| Eagles Lose at Home, 6-3, to Detroit | The Detroit Dynamos overcame a good performance by Washington right fielder Jimmy Henderson to knock off Washington, 6-3, at Columbia Stadium. Henderson went 3-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Detroit pitcher Pat Fortier got the win. He's now 13-5. Charlie Howard was tagged with the loss. Bud Dixon closed it out for Detroit, earning his 8th save.
Gil Jones contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the sixth. With a runner on 1st, he hit a double. His at-bat helped Detroit get the win.
"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Jones.
Detroit is 64-62 and Washington, with the loss, 53-73.
