| Minneapolis Upended, 4-3, by Philadelphia | The Philadelphia Keystones topped the Minneapolis Millers, 4-3, in Federal Association action at Liberty Coliseum. The standout performance belonged to Philadelphia pitcher and Gloucester City, New Jersey, native James Powers. Powers got the win, improving to 8-7. He gave up 5 hits and walked 3 over 6.2 innings. He allowed 3 runs. Bobby Coy got credit for the save for Philadelphia. It was his 2nd of the year.
Joe Landry contributed a productive at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a run-scoring single. His at-bat helped Philadelphia get the win.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Minneapolis manager Bill Bryan.
Philadelphia is now 56-70, Minneapolis 65-62.
