Stars Trip Wolves, 10-9, in Extra Innings
The Los Angeles Stars had to overcome a big game from Toronto catcher Jim Brooks to leave Bigsby Stadium with a victory. And they did, winning, 10-9. Brooks belted 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. John Herzog earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 7-3. The first-place Stars have a record of 77-48.

The decisive blow was delivered in the bottom of the 12th when Bill Bell hit a run-scoring double off 13-year veteran Phil Colantuono to win the game for Los Angeles. The home crowd went wild.

"Our guys refused to lose," said Bell.
