John DeWitt, who is the 4th-best prospect in the Cannons organization, was locked in. The right-hander led the Cincinnati Cannons to a 5-4 win against the Los Angeles Stars at Tice Memorial Stadium II. Cincinnati reliever Max Reed picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. John Herzog absorbed the loss. Cincinnati is now 57-72, while Los Angeles is 64-61.

Bill Blake was 2 for 3 with a double for Cincinnati. The 27-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off John Herzog. It was his 13th RBI of the season.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Blake told a Cincinnati Bulletin reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
