Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Philadelphia Keystones and Houston Comets.

Jay Hunt, who finished 3rd in the FA in saves with 24 in 1971, pitched well, but the Houston Comets still fell short, losing, 3-2, to the Philadelphia Keystones at Broad Street Park II. Philadelphia reliever Jim Steuber snagged the win, upping his record to 10-5. Jay Hunt shouldered the loss. Earning his 3rd save of the year was Buzz Lucas.

Philadelphia took the lead, 3-2, on Phil James's 5th home run of the season. The solo home run came off Houston pitcher Jay Hunt in the bottom of the eighth.

James said afterward that "winning is what it's all about."

Philadelphia is now 59-69, Houston 68-58.
