The New York Gothams defeated the Minneapolis Millers, 11-6. Center Fielder Mark Boyd deserved a large share of the credit. Boyd was 3-5 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 and driving in 4 for the Gothams. After today's action, New York sits at 60-66, while Minneapolis falls to 65-61.

New York grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Boyd hit a grand slam home run off Charlie Martin. His 7th home run of the season put the Gothams out in front, 6-2.

In postgame comments to the New York News, Boyd said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
