| Pioneers Rally Late to Nip Gothams | A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the St. Louis Pioneers and New York Gothams.
The St. Louis Pioneers stopped the New York Gothams, 6-5, in 10 innings at Gotham Stadium. The Pioneers got a big game from John Richards, who went 2-2 with 2 singles and 3 walks. He scored 2 runs. The Pioneers win now puts them at 63-64.
Art Williams provided a timely hit. The St. Louis center fielder delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the tenth inning to put the Pioneers on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
"Always feels extra good winning this kind of game," said Richards.
