Copperheads Need Extra Frames to Get Past Suns
Atlanta right-hander Jack Kotarski helped his team edge Los Angeles by the score of 3-2 in 14 innings. Kotarski kept the opposing lineup in check. The win for the Copperheads lifted their record to 91-34.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for John Newton? The fan favorite Newton stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 14th inning to put Atlanta up, 3-2. For the game, he was 3 for 6, including 1 double and 2 singles.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Atlanta manager Don Fox.
