| Mavericks Score Late, Clip Arrows, 5-4 | It was pandemonium at Mavericks Stadium after an exciting walk-off win.
Despite a fine performance by first baseman Rich Moyer, the Milwaukee Arrows lost to the Kansas City Mavericks, 5-4. Moyer was 3-4 with 2 doubles. He scored 3 times. The Mavericks improved their record to 56-72 with the win over Milwaukee.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Kansas City trailing 4-3, Johnny Kelley hit a fastball from Bud Andrews to center for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Mavericks had a walk-off win.
"This wasn't a good win," said Kelley. "It was a great win."
