Wolves Earn Win with Late Rally
Chicago right fielder Bob Menz had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Menz was 2 for 2 with 2 singles and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times, even as Toronto beat the Cougars, 8-7. Toronto pitcher Phil Colantuono got the win. He's now 3-4. Jim Norris was tagged with the loss. Dick Miller got the save, his 4th in 7 chances.

Toronto used the timely hitting of Chick Reed to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Wolves on top, 8-7. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"We take it day by day here," said Reed, "and today was a good one for us."

The Wolves, at 55-70, sit in last place in the Continental Association East.
