Mechanics Rally to Win
In a low-scoring tilt between the Pittsburgh Mechanics and the Boston Beacons, Leroy Budimir, who finished 4th in the UL in innings pitched with 342.1 last year, was the difference-maker. The Pittsburgh right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win in 14 innings. Pittsburgh pitcher Randy Boroughs got the win. He's now 4-3. John Hicks was tagged with the loss. With the win, Pittsburgh pushed its record to 29-24.

The decisive blow was delivered by Dobie Barton in the bottom of the 14th when he hit a run-scoring double off 23-year old right-handed pitcher John Hicks to win the game for Pittsburgh. The home crowd went nuts.

"I'm just trying to make sure I'm focused for each and every pitch," said Budimir.
