| Bears Suffer One-Run Loss at Hosho | Nagoya Minami Stadium hosted an old-fashioned pitchers' duel.
Starting pitcher Shinki Kimura gave the Hosho Reliables a rock-solid effort. The Sendai, Japan native helped his team defeat the Sapporo Bears, 2-1, at Nagoya Minami Stadium. The Reliables keep rolling, raising their record to 15-9.
Hosho right fielder Masaki Yamaguchi contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a cutter to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 14th hit of the season and put the Reliables ahead, 2-1.
Yamaguchi called the win a testament to his team's "tenacity."
