| Kyoto Scrapes Out 4-1 Win | Kyoto Owls starter Kuniaki Usui was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Denki Dynamics, 4-1. The winning pitcher was Usui, now 2-0. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 4. Kyoto goes to 10-10.
Tomonori Shimada hit a 2-run triple off Sadatake Suzuki in the top of the eighth, which put the Owls in front, 3-1. Shimada had 2 singles, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 3 for 4.
"Kuniaki did a tremendous job," said Kyoto manager Takejiro Yonemura.
