| Kingfishers Capture Close Win | Rakisuta got a big-time effort from pitcher Sadato Hayakawa, but it wasn't enough to keep the Yokohama Kingfishers from winning the game, 4-3. Hayakawa threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Yokohama reliever Kinya Kodama picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Ikuo Kanazawa absorbed the loss. The Rams fall to 9-13 and continue to sputter in the early going.
Charlie Sicotte came through with a big-time hit for Yokohama. The right fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"It was a team effort and I thought the guys had a good plan and approach," said Sicotte after the game.
