| Owls Earn Late Win | In a low-scoring tilt between the Kyoto Owls and the Yokohama Kingfishers, 25-year old right-handed pitcher Seishiro Kikuchi was the difference-maker. The Kyoto right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Naizen Sano, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save. Yokohama drops to 8-6.
Had it not been for Takiji Hayashi, the results might have been different. In the bottom of the eighth inning, when the Owls were trailing 2-1, Hayashi hit a 2-run single for Kyoto, giving his team the lead.
"We did enough to win," said Hayashi.
