| Late Rally by Owls Locks Up 5-3 Win | The Kyoto Owls faced a tough opponent in Yokohama pitcher Kiyoji Nakamura, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Owls Park by a final score of 5-3. Nakamura went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. Matashichi Matsunaga picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Taishi Yoshimura suffered the loss. Kenshin Kon earned the save, his 5th, for the Owls.
Manzo Yokoyama helped out the Kyoto cause in the bottom of the eighth inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the pinch hitter was 1-1 with a double.
Yokoyama called the win "a team effort."
Yokohama, now 5-15, continues its tough start.
