| 3-2 Rams Win over Owls Evens Season Record | Masakado Matsuda, who led the EL in saves with 12 in 1955, was locked in. The left-hander led the Rakisuta Rams to a 3-2 win against the Kyoto Owls at Rakisuta Stadium. With the loss, Kyoto sinks to 10-11.
Souhei Tamura dealt the Owls a blow in the bottom of the fourth. Batting with a runner on 2nd and Rakisuta leading 2-1, Tamura, who finished 5th in the EL in doubles with 31 in 1957, hit a 1-0 curveball for a run-scoring single.
"I thought Masakado threw the ball well across the board," said Rakisuta manager Bob Lester.
