| Rams Upend Kingfishers, 3-2 | The Rakisuta Rams and Yokohama Kingfishers played an entertaining game for Kanagawa Stadium patrons.
The Rakisuta Rams managed to get by the Yokohama Kingfishers, 3-2, at Kanagawa Stadium. Rakisuta pitcher Yoshimatsu Shiina set himself apart with his performance. In 7.2 innings, Shiina surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. Sadatake Suzuki collected save number 1.
Rakisuta used the hitting of Hideharu Nomura to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Rams on top, 3-1. For the game, Nomura had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We had the right guys up at the right times," said Yokohama manager Johnny Ruby. "We just didn't cash in."
Yokohama has now lost 4 straight.
